We travel to Denmark three times per year and visit wholesale dealers’ warehouses and carefully hand pick every item we sell. We then wrap each item in cardboard and pack it into a 40’ shipping container. Two months later it arrives at our Vancouver warehouse and we unpack it.
During the purchasing process, we inspect each item we buy and make sure we are purchasing high quality items that do not need much, if any, work done to them. When they arrive at our Vancouver warehouse, each item is inspected, thoroughly cleaned, repaired (if necessary) and finished using the appropriate finish for the material type. We also offer items for sale in "as found" condition.
Our items are vintage and as such, previously used. We make every effort to document and disclose any condition issues outside of normal wear and tear.
As with any wood furniture there are a few things you want to keep in mind.
Do NOT put anything HOT, WET or excessively COLD directly on any wood surface no matter what the finish is.
Spills should be wiped up as soon as possible using either a cloth or paper towel.
For most teak furniture a coat of natural teak oil once or twice a year (or as often as you like) will keep your piece looking great for generations.
Teak is typically finished with oil and the protective qualities of an oil finish are very low.
Rosewood is typically finished in a harder finish like lacquer or varnish and while being much more protective, prolonged exposure to heat, water or cold can affect the appearance and protectiveness negatively.
